Have you had to change plans, sometimes important or exciting plans, because of COVID-19? The library has too.
We have heard from many people who are uncomfortable attending our annual Midwinter Fundraiser until COVID is more under control in our community. The decreased attendance and the uncertainty of COVID outbreaks have forced our hand. We are canceling this very popular programming fundraiser again.
Even though we cannot host a fun event this year, I am asking you to please make a donation to support library programs. Donate whatever you would spend during the evening on ticket price, games, raffle tickets, and additional donations. Maybe even more.
If you have never attended our event or have been unable to donate in the past, let me explain why this is so important.
The Midwinter Fundraiser raises critical financial support for all of the programming and events that are provided throughout the year. YOU are the only funding source for these popular events.
Included in our ongoing renovation is a brand new, exciting space just for teens. We have a new, full-time Teen Services Specialist on staff to provide support and programs that foster creativity, empathy, and mental health awareness; enable teens to learn about financial literacy and civic awareness; and allow them a space to learn and grow. When the Teen Space is completed, all of this can happen – with your support!
In 2021, your generous donations funded story walks, pottery painting, gratitude journals, online game nights, virtual road trips, a virtual high school art show, Book Bingo, Christmas crafts, Mrs. Claus reading to the children, and a dinosaur egg hunt (complete with a roaming dinosaur!), among other popular events.
Events like these will not be possible in 2022 without YOU. Your financial support brings smiles to the faces of our patrons with every event they attend!
Your investment in the library’s Midwinter Fundraiser is critical to providing services that the children, teens, and adults in Warren rely upon and look forward to every year.
Please make a Midwinter Fundraiser gift. Donate generously, knowing that YOU are the reason that programs happen at the library!
Since the annual fundraiser will not be held, please take a few minutes to think about how happy and well-informed the patrons are who attend our programs – programs that will not happen this year without your generosity.
Then, take a few minutes and write a check or donate online. Support the programs that benefit so very many people in our community.
