Adult Services aims to provide fun, engaging and informative programs for Adult patrons (19+) of the Warren Public Library.

Our programs are made possible thanks to the generous donations made during our Annual Fundraiser.

If a program requires registration, it will be indicated below.  Registration will open 30 days in advance of the program.

Upcoming Programs for Adults

Reading Challenges:

The Fall Book Bingo reading challenge will run from Monday, September 1, through Saturday, November 29. Use the front of the Bingo Card to get a Bingo by completing a horizontal, vertical, or diagonal line.  On the back of the card, fill in your name, contact information, and list the books and authors that you read to complete the Bingo.  Turn in your completed Bingo card to the Reference Room (Second floor of the library) to be entered into a drawing for a $25 gift card of your choice.  Entries are due by 5:00 pm on Saturday, November 29, 2025.  Only one entry per person. Participants must be 19 or older.If you need a suggestion for any of the Bingo categories, stop by the library, call (814) 723-4650, or email adult@warrenlibrary.org.  We will be glad to assist you!

The Winter Reading Challenge will run from Monday, December 1, through Saturday, February 28. Stop by the Reference Room on the second floor of the library to register and receive your reading challenge packet.  If you are unable to visit us in person, please register online to receive the virtual reading packet.  Completed reading logs are due by 5:00 pm on Saturday, February 28.  All participants will receive a handful of smaller prizes.  The top reader will receive a $25 gift card of their choice.

Craft Time: Potholders | Monday, November 24 | Maker Space | Learn how to make potholders with a loom. | Registration is required for each session. Use the links below to register for the session that works best for your schedule.

Tech Talk: Genealogy, Part 2 | Tuesday, November 25, 6:30 to 7:30 pm | Reference Room | Registration required | Learn about Fold3 and Heritage Quest for genealogy research.

Beach Glass Jewelry Making Class by Christine Roessler | Thursday, December 11, 5:00 to 7:00 pm | Slater Room | Registration is required in person in advance.  A $10 nonrefundable cash fee is due at registration. | Come learn how to wire-wrap beach glass to make your own jewelry. Participants will have the opportunity to create necklaces and bangle bracelets. Holiday and winter charms will be available to add to your creation. Keep this wonderful project for yourself or give it as a gift.

Holiday Music Bingo for Seniors 55+ | Tuesday, December 16, 1:00 to 3:00 pm | Jefferson Room | Play Bingo and learn about how LIFE-NWPA may be able to help you stay living in your own home.  This activity is free to all who participate with no obligation to enroll in LIFE-NWPA.

Needle Felting Class by Jill Sheldon | Tuesday, January 13, 5:30 to 7:30 pm | Slater Room | Registration required | Learn the art of needle felting by creating your own snowman.

Winter Craft for Seniors 55+ | Tuesday, January 20, 1:00 to 3:00 pm | Jefferson Room | Make a craft and learn about how LIFE-NWPA may be able to help you stay living in your own home. This activity is free to all who participate with no obligation to enroll in LIFE-NWPA.

      • Wednesday, December 3, 5:00 to 7:30 pm – Rating: TV-G, Runtime: 97 minutes, Synopsis: Two coworkers at a Budapest gift shop unknowingly correspond with each other, having “met” through a lonely-hearts ad, but as the pen pals grow closer on paper, their at-work bickering drives them further apart. Remade in 1949 as the musical “In the Good Old Summertime” and updated and reworked as “You’ve Got Mail” in 1998
      • Wednesday, January 7, 5:00 to 7:30 pm – Rating: PG, Runtime: 120 minutes, Synopsis: Thrilling adventure yarn about eight sled dogs struggling to survive when bad weather leaves them marooned at an Antarctic research post. The fact-based film is similar to the 1983 Japanese film “Nankyoku Monogatari,” which was released in the U.S. as “Antarctica.”
      • Wednesday, February 4, 5:00 to 7:30 pm – Rating: TV-G, Runtime: 102 minutes, Synopsis: A widowed Eurasian doctor falls in love with an American news correspondent in Hong Kong. He cannot get divorced, and her traditional family disapproves of their relationship, but the two carry on their affair in secret.
